Illustration Project for Students / Developing Creative Problem Solvers

A monthly problem-solving subscription box for teachers to facilitate with their students

QUEST Is a year-long problem-solving subscription for teachers to facilitate with their students. Educators will open a new QUEST Box at the start of each month to engage with their class in an immersive storyline and gameplay, developing students’ critical thinking, creativity, communication, & collaboration skills.

HOW QUEST WORKS

Educators will open a new QUEST Box at the start of each month to engage with their class in an immersive storyline, developing students’ critical thinking, creativity, communication, & collaboration skills.

Example Experience:

Ms. Johnson is a 6th-grade teacher who subscribed to QUEST. She received her first QUEST Box in August and her students became immersed in a year-long QUEST together

Each QUEST box led them through six phases of immersive gameplay:

UNBOXING / ANALYSIS

Each box comes with a video intro with important clues that will help Ms Johnson's class navigate through the game.

ENCOUNTER DECISIONS / COMMUNICATION

While exploring the map, her students ran into difficult encounters where students had to come together and figure out how to make decisions sometimes leading them to great rewards and other times dire consequences!

MAP EXPLORATION / CREATIVITY

Since QUEST Box is a live monthly subscription, the QUEST map inside the game is riddled with hidden rewards that her class could be the first team to uncover!

BARTERING / COLLABORATION

Ms. Johnson's students soon realized they could not solve each QUEST Box without collaborating with other students to obtain the needed information and resources to succeed. Difficult trade negotiations insued, helping her students learn the importance of collaboration!

PUZZLES / CRITICAL THINKING

As students discovered the hidden loot throughout the game, they found it difficult to unlock. It required them to solve riddles, decipher codes, and think critically.

DEBRIEF / REFLECTION

As each QUEST box came to an epic conclusion, Ms. Johnson was given discussion guidelines to talk with her students. Students would reflect individually, discuss in groups and as a class on that month's QUEST and how it relates to the educational principle that was the focus for that month. Her students would then wait eagerly for next month's QUEST to start as they continued to be immersed in this new world!

SEASON 1 STORYLINE

Our first season is set in a post-apocalyptic world where all adults have suddenly vanished. Students must work together to rebuild society and survive the myriad of challenges that lie ahead in their new world. Teachers role-play as an all-knowing Artificial Intelligence robot to assist their students as they embark on each month's QUEST.

Season 1 is built around the ISTE Standards for students. Each month’s QUEST box will directly reflect one of the standards and give students a hands-on experience of that standard.
